Welcome
to The Write Marbles, a mixed bag of writers brought together by a love
of writing and critiquing picture books. In our early days we were
called "The Group". After much joking about losing marbles, finding
marbles, and needing extra marbles for particularly tough revisions,
"The Marbles" was born. From there we've become a group sharing all
aspects of our writing careers. Please stay awhile, read, relax,
enjoy, and if you’re having one of those days where you feel like
you're losing your writing marbles, take what you need from us. We have
plenty and we love sharing, here, and on The Write Marble Blog. You can also subscribe to our bi-weekly update, and email with questions, comments, and suggestions.
Thanks for stopping by,
NEW to the Marble Bag!
JUMP OVER TO SALT LAKE CITY
Marble Carol Peterson
will be presenting at this year’s ALA National Institute in Salt Lake
City for the Association of Library Services for Children. She’ll be
speaking on “Science Programs in the Library,” based partly on her
teacher resource book, Jump into Science: Themed Science Fairs
(Teacher Ideas Press, 2008). Her theme – make learning fun – will be
the underlying focus of her presentation where librarians will be
encouraged to create activity-based programs using the awesome
non-fiction books sitting on their shelves.
Carol’s interactive presentation will feature
science experiments led by Carol and performed by the audience so they
can understand that your name doesn’t have to be “Albert” to be able to
create science programs for children.
The National Institute will be held September 18-20 at the Hilton Salt Lake City Center. Please visit ALSC for more information.
